Keshwa Chaca Bridge (Peru)
The Keshwa Chaca Bridge, unlike other bridges, is built of braided grass. Don’t be afraid if you think it won’t be able to handle your weight. After more than half a millennium, the bridge is still going strong.

When the Incas first erected it, they needed a large group of people to do so. In order to maintain the structure, the men braided enormous support cables out of thin ropes braided by women. The outcome is a beautiful bridge that showcases the ingenuity of the Incas and their unique building techniques..
