The Kolyma Highway, Russia
Also known as the Road of Bones and the coldest road on the planet, the Kolyma Highway gives you fascinating views of Russia. It isn’t a dangerous despite the nicknames. They actually refer to how the road was built and not how hard it is to navigate.
Oymyakon is considered the coldest place on Earth and this is one of the closest towns to the highway. Temperatures can reach a bracing -58 degrees F. This results in smooth ice and a solidified rocky surface, which actually makes it safer to drive on. Don’t forget to wear your thermals!
