35mm slides hold valuable memories, and converting them to digital format ensures they last for years to come. A 35mm slide converter makes it easy to digitize your old photos, allowing you to view and share them on modern devices. These converters range from simple smartphone adapters to high-end scanners, with some working through a smartphone camera and others connecting to a computer. The right choice depends on the number of slides you have and the image quality you need. A good converter should deliver sharp, clear digital images that preserve the colors and details of the originals. When selecting a slide converter, consider factors like image quality, ease of use, and scanning speed. We tested several models to find the best options for efficiently digitizing your memories with great results.

We recommend the Kodak Slide N Scan for its user-friendly design and versatile compatibility with various film types.
We found the Kodak Slide N Scan to be a handy tool for digitizing old photo memories. The 5″ LCD display made it simple to preview and edit photos right on the device. We liked how we could share our scans with family and friends or use the scanner as a digital picture frame.
The scanner’s ability to handle different film types impressed us. We tested it with 35mm negatives, 110 slides, and even some old 126mm film strips. The quick-feed tray made the scanning process smooth and fast. We didn’t have to fuss with complex settings – a single touch of the ‘Scan’ button did most of the work.
While using the Kodak Slide N Scan, we noticed that image quality can be hit or miss. Some scans turned out great, while others needed tweaking. The basic editing options let us adjust color and brightness, which helped improve many of our scans. For casual users wanting to preserve old memories, we think this scanner does the job well enough.

We found this budget-friendly scanner to be a mixed bag for digitizing 35mm slides and negatives.
We found this budget-friendly scanner to be a mixed bag for digitizing 35mm slides and negatives.
The DIGITNOW scanner lets you digitize old slides and negatives without needing a computer. We liked how it can take a stack of slides, saving time compared to single-feed models. The 2.4-inch screen was handy for previewing scans, though a bit small for detailed checks.
We had some issues with scan quality. At its best, images looked decent for casual use. But results weren’t always predictable. Some scans came out too dark or blurry. The 1800 DPI setting is okay for basic digitizing, but serious hobbyists might want higher resolution.
Setup was tricky due to unclear instructions. Once we got it working, the controls were simple enough. Being able to save directly to an SD card (not included) was convenient. For the price, it’s an okay choice if you have lots of slides to digitize quickly and aren’t too picky about perfect quality. Just be prepared for some trial and error.

The image quality is okay for most people. It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough to save and share old memories. We wish it came with an SD card, though. You need to buy one separately to save your scans. All in all, we think it’s a handy tool for preserving family photos.

We think the KODAK SCANZA is a good choice for casual users who want to digitize their old film and slides quickly and easily.
We tested the KODAK SCANZA and found it to be a user-friendly option for digitizing old memories. The scanner handled 35mm, 126, 110, Super 8, and 8mm negatives and slides with ease. We liked the large 3.5″ LCD screen, which made it simple to preview and edit images right on the device.
The 14-megapixel sensor captured decent quality scans for casual use. While not as sharp as high-end flatbed scanners, the results were good enough for viewing on screens or making small prints. The option to boost resolution to 22 megapixels through interpolation was nice, but we didn’t see a huge difference in quality.
We appreciated the included adapters and inserts, which made it easy to load different film types. The one-touch scanning was quick, and we could save images directly to an SD card (not included). Keep in mind that this scanner works best with already developed film – it can’t process raw negatives.

Eyesen Portable Slide Scanner
We can’t recommend this product due to its poor performance and reliability issues.
We can’t recommend this product due to its poor performance and reliability issues.
We tested the Eyesen Portable Slide Scanner, hoping it would be a budget-friendly option for digitizing old slides and negatives. The compact, foldable design seemed promising for those with limited storage space. It’s small enough to tuck away in a drawer when not in use.
Using the scanner was straightforward. We put in two AA batteries, placed a slide in the tray, and turned on the LED backlight. Then we used our smartphone camera to capture the image through the scanner’s viewing hole. The process was simple, but the results were disappointing.
Many of our scans came out blurry or with a yellow tint. The image quality was far below what we’d expect, even from a basic scanner. We also ran into problems with the device itself. Some units arrived with broken on/off switches, while others didn’t light up at all. These issues make it hard for us to trust this product’s longevity.
Eyesen Portable Slide Scanner- Convert 35mm Slides and Negatives: With this easy-to-use film scanner, you can view, scan, convert and digitize old 35mm slides and films into digital JPEG format and save them. Easy to use, No complicated operations and expensive fees.

We liked that we could scan different types of film without needing a computer. The included adapters for various film sizes were handy. It was nice to just pop in a negative or slide, press a button, and save the image to an SD card (though we had to buy one separately).
The image quality was okay for casual use, but not amazing. We noticed some colors looked a bit off, and the scans weren’t as sharp as we hoped. The lack of built-in editing tools was a bit of a letdown. Still, for the price, it did a decent job of bringing our old memories into the digital age.

We tested the DIGITNOW All-in-1 Film Scanner and found it to be a handy tool for digitizing old photos. It’s great for tackling a variety of film formats, including 35mm, 110, and 126 slides and negatives. We liked that we didn’t need a computer to use it – just pop in an SD card and start scanning.
The scanner is compact and light, making it easy to move around. We scanned a bunch of old family slides while watching TV. It only took about 2 seconds per scan, which was nice. The 2.4-inch screen let us see our scans right away, though it’s a bit small for detailed viewing.
Image quality is okay but not amazing. The 22-megapixel resolution sounds good, but it’s achieved through software, not optics. We noticed some photos looked a bit soft. The built-in memory is limited, so an SD card is a must. Despite these drawbacks, we think it’s a good option for casual users who want to preserve their memories without spending a fortune.

Eyesen Pocket Slide Scanner
We can’t recommend this scanner due to its poor image quality and unreliable app.
We can’t recommend this scanner due to its poor image quality and unreliable app.
We tested the Eyesen Pocket Slide Scanner hoping for an easy way to digitize old memories. The tiny, foldable box seemed promising at first. We liked how it fits in a backpack and works with slides and negatives.
Sadly, using it was frustrating. The app was glitchy and hadn’t been updated in years. Our scans came out blurry and dark. We tried different phones, but results were always poor.
Aligning the scanner with our phone’s camera was a pain. The device assumes your camera is centered, which isn’t true for many phones. We ended up holding our phone at odd angles to make it work. In the end, we gave up and went back to our flatbed scanner. It’s slower but gives much better results. For the price, we expected more from this gadget.
Eyesen Pocket Slide Scanner- Foldable Design: This film scanner is foldable, you can fold it into the size of a small box and put it in your backpack without taking up space. It is very convenient to carry when traveling.

We tested the Magnasonic All-in-One Film Scanner and found it to be a user-friendly option for bringing old memories into the digital age. The device handles 35mm, 110, and 126 film negatives, as well as 35mm slides. We liked that we could see our scans right away on the 5-inch screen.
The scanner was easy to set up and use. We didn’t need a computer, which was a big plus. We just popped in our old negatives and slides, and the scanner did its thing. The 24MP resolution gave us good quality digital copies of our old photos.
We scanned a bunch of family photos from the 80s and 90s. The process was pretty quick, but not lightning-fast. It took about 5 seconds per photo. The built-in memory is small, so we used an SD card for more storage. While we couldn’t edit the scans on the device itself, we were able to make basic adjustments like brightness and color. For more serious editing, we had to transfer the files to a computer.

Buying Guide
When shopping for a 35mm slide converter, we recommend focusing on a few key features:
Resolution
Look for converters that offer at least 3200 dpi resolution. This ensures your digitized slides will have good detail and sharpness.
Speed
Check how many slides the device can scan per minute. Faster speeds are better if you have lots of slides to convert.
Compatibility
Make sure the converter works with your computer’s operating system and has the right connections (USB, etc).
Software
Good conversion software makes a big difference. It should be easy to use and allow basic editing and organizing of your scanned images.
Slide Feeder Capacity
A larger feeder that holds more slides at once means less manual work for you.
Image Enhancement
Look for features like dust and scratch removal, color restoration, and auto-exposure adjustment.
Here’s a quick comparison of important specs to consider:
Feature | Good | Better | Best |
---|---|---|---|
Resolution | 1800 dpi | 3200 dpi | 5000+ dpi |
Scan Speed | 1-2 per minute | 3-5 per minute | 6+ per minute |
Feeder Capacity | 20-30 slides | 50 slides | 100+ slides |
We suggest reading user reviews to get a sense of ease of use and scan quality. Price is also a factor, but we find investing in a quality converter often pays off in better results.
