Pavelski ties record for NHL postseason goals scored by US-born player

Joe Pavelski set the report for many targets scored within the NHL postseason by a United States-born participant with one for the Dallas Stars in a 3-2 double-overtime win towards the Tampa Bay Lightning in Sport 5 of the Stanley Cup Closing on Saturday.

Pavelski, a Wisconsin native, has scored 13 targets this postseason to provide him 61 in his NHL profession. Mullen, a New York native, scored 60, and Mike Modano, from Michigan, scored 58.

“It is enjoyable to be up there with these guys, and we’ll attempt to maintain going,” Pavelski mentioned. “We’ll take a look at it one other day, another time, I am not too apprehensive about it proper now. We’re attempting to get that trophy.”

Pavelski is the fourth NHL participant to attain at the very least 10 targets in a postseason at age 36 or older, becoming a member of Maurice Richard (11 with the Montreal Canadiens in 1958 at 36), Wayne Gretzky (10 with the New York Rangers in 1997 at 36), and Brett Hull (10 with the Detroit Purple Wings in 2002 at 37).
